Hi, My name is Gus and I'm a gray chinchilla. I'm going to tell you a bit about my life as a chinchilla and I'm going to introduce you to some of my friends. My pet parents name is Emily and she takes really good care of me. Whenever she comes in my room to see me I get a raisin and a nice scratch under my chin. I have a nice large cage with many ledges, two small houses, a hammock, and many things to chew on. Everyday I get fresh Timothy Hay, water and food. The hay is so tasty! My favorite chew toys in my cage would have to be the bark bites. (I only eat the bark, it's the best part!) Most of my friends and family say I'm the most spoiled chinchilla around, I would have to agree. I came from previous owners who could no longer care for me. While I was living there for the first four years of my life I was given many salty treats and love. When my new pet parent adopted me I was scared that I wouldn't have as great of life as I did before. I found out soon I had nothing to worry about. I even get special vanilla bean bath powder! When my pet parent Emily isn't around I usually talk to some of my animal friends. Let me introduce you to them. The first animal friend I had was Kermit the green iguana. His cage is right next to mine. Kermit was the first to welcome me to my new home with Emily. Kermit is very wise and can keep his cool in any situation. Sometimes he even shares a piece of his fruit with me. Kermit's favorite thing to do is bask under his lamp and then get sprayed with cool water. My second friend is Harry the the cat. Harry is a clever Russian blue cat. Harry spends most of his time outside. Later he comes back to the house for food and a nap. When Harry is outside he sometimes kills rodents. Yikes!! I'm not too fond of Harry seeing how he is a carnivore, but we can get along. Harry's favorite thing to do is to be outside or attack my pet parents leg when she isn't looking. It's funny to watch! My third friend is Jackalina the ferret. We call her Jack for short. Jack is very clever but is also very goofy. She is getting old but she is still full of spunk! She chatters really fast and sometimes you can't understand what she's saying. When Jack comes out of her cage she hops around making hiccup sounds. This is natural for her it means she is happy and ready to run around. Jackalina's favorite thing to do is to burrow and sleep or drag my pet parents stuff under the couch. One time Jack pulled my pet parents backpack under the couch! Jack was not too friendly at first because she is a carnivore. Now we're really close buds. My fourth friend is Oliver the bichon. Oliver was born the runt of the litter and is sometimes even scared of a mouse! He is not very smart or clever but he is the friendliest most lovable happy dog you have ever met. I always run around with Oliver seeing if he can catch me. Oliver wags his tail and sticks his butt up in the air telling me he wants to play. Oliver only plays sometimes though. This is because Oliver is the laziest dog on Earth!! He is always lying around in his bed. He loves to curl up and take a nap. Delilah is the noisiest of all of my friends. She never stops talking! Whether it's muttering to herself or talking to others Delilah has something to say. This is surprising because Delilah is a mouse! Delilah is sensitive but friendly. I usually share a bit of my treats with her when she helps me out. Everyone has to be nice to Delilah because she recently lost her best friend Zelda to an illness. We will all miss Zelda!!): My friends and I are planning to bring Delilah her other best friend from the pet store.:) My final friend for me to introduce you to is Humphrey the Siamese point tip rabbit. Humphrey and I have a lot in common. We each love treats, hay, and playing jokes. Humphrey loves to chew on anything and everything. Wood,carpets,blankets,hay.....etc. My pet parent always has to tell him to stop chewing on things! Humphreys favorite girl of the house is Delilah. He admires hoe Delilah is so sweet! He also thinks that Delilah is great at burrowing. Humphrey is very regal and thinks he deserves the best. He can be a bit pompous but we'll always be friends! Humphreys favorite thing to do is eat. It seems Humphrey is eating 24/7! He is so carefree that everyone can learn a good lesson from Humphrey. I finally introduced you to all of my friends! Now I'll tell you what I do with my pet parent Emily. When my pet parent opens my cage I usually come right out. (unless it's during the day because I'm nocturnal) I love being the center of attention. Emily always gets her camera when she is playing with me. She tries to take a picture of me, but I can't seem to stay still. When it's time for me to go back into my cage I let my pet parent try to catch me. When Emily finally catches me I get a bath and a dried banana chip. Then I stay up all night and start my day over again. I hope you have enjoyed this page Gus the chinchilla.......keep chinchillan:)
